Poetry writing workshops
NEW and open to everyone!
These are non-competitive workshops, designed to allow young people aged 7 to 16 the opportunity to develop their writing skills, benefit from working with professional writers and most of all, have some fun!

Places are limited and MUST be booked online via Play&Perform. A brief overview of each workshop can be found below.
Junior Workshop - Ages 7-11
This workshop will take place on 9th March 2024 on the theme of Spring Chickens. Catherine Swire, local poet and chicken keeper, will seize the season to explore the miracle of change, from egg to chicken (or the other way round?) and the complexity of keeping birds in one place.
Senior Workshop - Ages 11-16
On 9th March 2024 we will run a powerful workshop on chickens and being chicken – how poetry deals with fear. Catherine Swire, local poet whose prize-winning book about chickens comes out this Spring, will lead.
