Useful Information

A very warm welcome to all those returning to the Festival and for those joining us for the first time this year. We are proud to be celebrating our 73rd year in 2024. There are more exciting changes and developments for this year's festival, so please read the syllabus carefully and keep checking back for updates! Please see below for further useful information.

The festival this year promises to be bigger and better than ever! All key dates can be found by clicking here.

The programme will be available here from early February, detailing which sections will be held on which days and at what times.

The rules and policies can be found within the syllabus, but for convenience, they are also available here.

The festival days

We very much hope that the festival will be able to go ahead 'in person' with an audience. Admission details and charges can be found here. However, if circumstances change, we will revert to the virtual format we used in 2021. We will communicate with all entrants as soon as possible if this is the case.

The festival concert is planned for Saturday 23rd March 2024 at 7pm. Winners may be invited to take part and the festival trophies and special prizes will be awarded at this concert. Therefore, winners must be prepared to attend. The concert will take place at RGS Worcester.

How to enter

All entries MUST be made online by the deadline using the Play&Perform platform.

However, please be aware that changes may still be made to the syllabus.

Details of the entry fees for each section can be found in the syllabus. The festival is a charity and operates on a not-for-profit basis. We need to pay for venue hire and adjudicator fees and we rely on unpaid volunteers to make the festival happen. Therefore we have to make a charge for entries.

However, we do not want anyone to be excluded from the festival if they cannot afford to enter. This year, for the first time, we have a small number of bursaries available to support individuals in cases of genuine financial difficulty to be able to take part. If you would like to discuss, please click here to email us in confidence.
