All large and small group entries are FREE and all solos, duets, trios and quartet entries have 20% off the entry fees if completed by 1st December 2025.

We do not believe any enthusiastic performer should miss out on WCAF because of financial concerns or additional needs. We want to make taking part as easy as possible and to ensure we include everyone who wants to take part. Please contact admin@wcaf.org.uk to discuss any accessibility requirements or to discover more about free places.

We firmly believe that first and foremost, WCAF is about "the taking part"...but there's an old saying that "competition is the whetstone of talent", meaning you can definitely sharpen your skills by being tested in public. Plus, there's the fun of competing for a prize or a first place that just adds that extra bit of spice to things.

So what's on offer?

The weekend following the festival is the prestigious Festival Concert. Our adjudicators are looking our for the finest actors, singers, instrumentalists, choirs and bands throughout the whole festival. We invite the best of the best to perform and possibly receive a trophy or prize. We check the availability of every winner, but please don't necessarily expect an invite - places are extremely limited and are on the recommendation of the adjudicators. You don't have to have entered a competitive class to be considered; all offers to perform at the concert are made on the basis of your performance.

At the Festival Concert we award many trophies based on the recommendation of adjudicators across the festival. Trophies we often award include:

  • Worcester Arts Council trophies for High Achievement

  • Bertulis Solo Verse Speaking Challenge Trophy

  • Creative Writing and Composition

  • Rotary Young Performer of the Year Trophy

  • Solo Acting Festival Prize

  • Inner Wheel Trophy

  • Promising performer trophies in various disciplines

In competitive classes on the music, poetry, prose and drama and musical theatre days, all performers will receive a comment sheet and a certificate. There are medals for all competitive solo classes, with gold, silver and bronze medals for classes of 10 or more, gold and silver for classes of 5 - 9 and gold only for classes of 4 or fewer. â€‹Winning groups or ensembles may be awarded a trophy. It's a bit different on the rock and pop days. We don't award medals or places, although comment sheets and classifications will still be announced.

In our pure performance, non-competitive classes, no medals or trophies are awarded, but all entrants receive a certificate with a classification and constructive feedback from the adjudicator. However, the classification is not announced. These classes are great for individuals who may be very nervous about competing or who are new to performing in public.

Previous Trophy Winners

If you won a trophy this year, please return it, in the packaging provided, to the Festival by the end of January 2026. Please ensure the trophy is returned clean and in good repair, otherwise a charge may be made. Thank you.
